Via ZoomJoin from wherever you are.
16 hours over 4 afternoonsThe seminar combines detailed theory with practical exercises on each section of the KA120 application.

This seminar is for you if…

…you are a teacher or a member of staff at a general education school, a vocational education and training provider or an adult education organisation, and you want your organisation to obtain Erasmus accreditation (KA120), giving it steady access to funding for mobility activities until the end of the programme period.

You want your organisation to secure reliable and long-term Erasmus+ funding.

With Erasmus accreditation, you do not write a new application from scratch every year: you submit a simplified funding application (KA121) and implement the Erasmus Plan that has already been approved. In the seminar, you learn how Erasmus accreditation, the Erasmus Plan and the annual funding applications fit together.

You want to write a detailed, well-supported Erasmus Plan, but you do not know where to start.

The Erasmus Plan is the core of the application: it sets out the organisation's objectives for the entire accreditation period, the activities that will support them and the ways in which their success will be measured. In the seminar, you learn to start from your organisation’s needs and turn them into clear, measurable objectives, exactly as the application requires.

You want guidance from a trainer with direct experience of assessing applications.

The trainer has been assessing Key Action 1 applications for Erasmus+ National Agencies since 2020. In the seminar, you examine each application question against the award criteria and learn which answers score well and which do not.

What your participation includes

  • 16 hours of online training

The seminar takes place over four afternoons via Zoom and combines clear, detailed theory with practical exercises on the different sections of the application.

  • E-workshops in small groups

In each e-workshop, you work with other participants on hypothetical application examples based on real cases and present your group’s results to all participants.

  • Extra

    The seminar's Padlet

The Padlet brings together Erasmus+ Programme guides, application-writing checklists and useful links. Once you register, you can access all the materials and save them to your computer. Access remains active until one week after the seminar ends.

  • Extra

One-hour Q&A session before the submission deadline

About two weeks before the submission deadline, you meet the trainer online for one hour, and he answers the questions you have sent in advance about your own application.

  • Certificate of attendance

When you complete the seminar, you receive your certificate of attendance by email, at the address you provided when you registered.

After 16 hours, you will be able to:

  • understand the Erasmus quality standards and how they are reflected in every question of the accreditation application.

  • read your application through an evaluator’s eyes.

  • write comprehensive, measurable objectives for the entire accreditation period.

  • define the methods and indicators you will use to monitor and evaluate the achievement of your objectives.

  • choose activity types and host organisations that directly address your organisation's objectives and needs.

  • answer every application question clearly and with supporting evidence, so that your answers form a coherent Erasmus Plan.

The seminar programme by day

The first two days focus mainly on theory and the last two on practical group exercises, so that each day builds on the previous one.

  1. 1
    Day 1

The Key Action 1 framework and the Erasmus quality standards

The first day places the KA120 application within Key Action 1 and explains what the Erasmus Plan is and which commitments your organisation takes on when it accepts the Erasmus quality standards.

    Theory

    • Participants get to know one another and the seminar’s expected learning outcomes are presented.
    • The Key Action 1 framework is presented, with a focus on the KA120 application and the Erasmus Plan.
    • The Erasmus quality standards are analysed.

    Practical exercises

    • You practise with hypothetical examples of correct and incorrect practice and answer comprehension questions about the theoretical framework.
  2. 2
    Day 2

Award criteria and analysis of the application questions

The second day begins with practice on the quality standards, presents the award criteria and then analyses the KA120 application question by question, with a suggested answer structure for each one.

    Practical exercises

    • You identify the core principles of the Erasmus quality standards through hypothetical examples, so that you fully understand the commitments the applicant organisation takes on.

    Theory

    • The award criteria for the KA120 application are presented.
    • Each application question is analysed and an answer structure linked to the award criteria is proposed.
  3. 3
    Day 3

From needs to objectives and activities

The third day is devoted entirely to practical exercises in three e-workshops where you work in groups. After each workshop, one group presents its worksheet to all participants and a discussion follows.

    Practical exercises

    • In e-workshop 1, you work with your group to classify the findings of a hypothetical organisation's needs analysis into key thematic areas of challenge and to document the needs of each category of participants.
    • In e-workshop 2, you set clear, valid indicators to assess whether the objectives of the application and the intended outcomes of the activities have been achieved for each category of participants.
    • In e-workshop 3, you match needs with suitable activity types, host organisations or course providers and indicative descriptions of expected learning outcomes.
  4. 4
    Day 4

Writing the objectives of the Erasmus Plan

The fourth day draws on all your experience so far: you work with your group to write comprehensive objectives for the Erasmus Plan and present them to all participants.

    Practical exercises

    • In e-workshop 4, which has two parts, you write comprehensive objectives using hypothetical needs data: you formulate each objective, describe its content and specify how its progress will be monitored.
    • After each part, one group presents its completed worksheet to all participants and a discussion follows.
